San Diego Cycling Public
San Diego Cycling Public is a Miriello initiative that explores and promotes the value of cycling to build and strengthen community. It began as a project for San Diego Design Week (SDDW) and still resides on the SDDW website here. Activists, politicians and makers in San Diego and Italy were interviewed about their unique perspectives on cycling. SDDW concluded with a Miriello guided design bike-tour of Barrio Logan. Cycling Public attracted willing support from a community ready to help shape it’s own future.
San Diego Cycling Public is the beginning of a larger goal, the remaking of building #191 in Liberty Station, CA into a regional center for all things cycling. A place we’ll make together! See the fuller vision here.
Graphic Designer Joel Sotelo collaborated with Miriello on the graphic program, Fabrizio Scippa on web and Aggie Aguilar on video production. Cafe Moto brought their support and coffee. As much as promoting citywide community, San Diego Cycling Public became an opportunity to experienced first-hand the goodwill of the San Diego design community itself.
