On a visit to Maine in 2022 collector Richard Rydell, shared a small book he’d just acquired. A 1876 specimens journal-book of seaweed collected from Penobscot Bay in Searsport Maine. The unknown story of the book, the collector and the timeless beauty of nature itself, became the basis for an art exhibition by Ron Miriello called Found Adrift / New Works from a Lost Journal-book. An exhibition of prints, collages, textiles, drawings and abstractions, inspired by a lost archive of nature, as inspiring and relevant today as it was almost 150 years ago. https://miriellostudio.com/
