SDCP Photography Exposé
Accomplished San Diego photographers Nick Nacca and Aaron Serafino are both lovers of bicycles and Italy. And both are big supporters of San Diego and SDCP. Aaron and Nick both immediately said “I’m in” when I asked each to create a series of interpretive images as a dedication to San Diego Cycling Public and SDDW.
Aaron Serafino
Photographer Aaron Serafino drops by the Officina on his yellow BMW sidecar to talk Italy, bikes and photography. And ways to collaborate. “Hey Aaron, what if you used your cool cyanotype photo technique with some iconic bicycle parts. Turn elegant industrial design into elegant artwork." Aaron, always up for a collaboration, masterminded this gorgeous series of cyanotype prints, featuring classic Campagnolo components, but in a whole new light. Tullio Campagnolo, founder of Campagnolo, would be honored. I sure am. Visit AARONSERAFINO.COM

Nick Nacca
Fortunately photographer Nick Nacca is also an avid cyclist. He has embraced San Diego Cycling Public and took on the task of photographing pieces of the Miriello Collection with an elegance and sophistication that is pure Nacca. With a few wool jerseys and turn of the century cycling buttons (thanks to Russ Boelhauf) he turned them into contemplative still-life studies. Then he said, ”Let me shoot your Italian bicycle collection. I’ll match the background color to the color of the frame.” The results are photos equally as impressive as the bicycles themselves.
